The 2015 Gigondas Olivier Ravoire is a relatively modern style effort that’s made from 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah that has around 20% of the blend brought up in new barrels. Its deep purple/ruby color is followed by impressive notes of cassis, spice and sweet oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a forward, charming style, it’s not a massive wine, yet should drink nicely on release and over the following 6-7 years. The nose has a brothy quality, a thick aroma of stewed blackberry, a sweet centre. The palate runs with more freedom, washes along with black, smoky berry fruit, licorice. The finish is fresh, if a little taut, clipped, shows oak out on its own.
Beautiful purple colour with violet hues. Colourful Nose releasing aromas of Provence and pits fruits. Potent mouthfeel with a silky attack developing into a mouthfeel featuring well-balanced tannins.
