Schmitges Erdener Pralat Grosses Gewachs Dry Riesling, Mosel, Germany
The Prälat is certainly one of the classics and the highest rated locations in the Moselle. Once you stand in front of the vineyard, it rises with its enormous slope and in the steepest part you seem to be standing in front of a wall of vineyards. The result is a particularly powerful but also finely spicy Riesling. It shows up tightly and precisely in the glass. It smells of green apples, lemons and pineapple. The aging on the full yeast, in large wooden barrels, ensures a certain suppleness.
